Typographic poster series.
Sketching
This typographic poster series is for a fictional museum exhibit highlights three legendary American writers: Toni Morrison, Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, and Rabindranath Tagore. I wanted to highlight the unique style of each author in their respective poster. Morrison's poster is extremely realistic, while Garcia-Marquez's stands in a stark contrast to represent his more surreal style. Finally as Tagore's prose are emotion driven yet grounded so this poster falls in the center of the previous two.
Idea Refinement
I took the most impactful sketches into Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to further test and refine the different concepts.
Final Concept
The final product was based on concept 4 and was created in physical, print based typographic compositions which I photographed. This physical composition was paired with black type on white to invoke the paperback roots of these authors.

As an extension of this project, I animated the elements from the Gabo Garcia-Marquez poster to further the applications of this poster series.
